Situated in the southern part of Giurgiu town ,Shipyard ATG Giurgiu SRL has direct access to Danube ,wich confersit a good opportunityfor testing and launching constructing ships.
Navigable channels are4 not the only ones that help goods and products transportation with direct ways to the shipyard.Due to some political and economical conjunctures ,in 1998 the shipyards getsinsolvable and the administration declare the bankruptcy.
In 1996 the administration of the company changes, the shipyard confrunting a proces of decreasing until 2002 when, a Romanian investor, Apostol Teodor Gheorghe decides to buy the construction assembly rooms, the sideways draughting ways , view to launch the syncrolift also.We must mention the fact that ,at the time there weren't the proper equipments and the remaining bridges were incompleted.
Shipyard restart consisted of acting simultaneouslyon 2 fronts:
a)the endowment, the repairs and the restart of production;
b)qualified personnel;
c)medium term investment program (3-5 years)and the long term investment program (8-10 years)
Year 2002 represents the beginning of a new phase in company's evolution and development,phase characterised by precise objectives: to create new products intended to be distinguished in a particular way, to maintain the existing clients and to make new ones.
