Giurgiu's modern development depended on the town's strategical and commercial importance, of communicational binding
character and of the seaport of Bucharest at the Danube.
One of the most important facilities of the shipyard is the vertical transfer equipment, called syncrolift,
which ensures the ships to be launched or to be docked in order to get safely repaired.This equipment was projected
and built for maritime and naval ships having the following maximum characteristic : Lenght=110m; Width=17,5m;
Weight=300t and it is endowed with a mobile platform driven by strut jacks working in phases.
Ships transfer from the assembly room and from the repairing shipping room to the syncrolift is
done through a transfer way sistem, which has a 114.793 m2 surface, by some waterworks, tractable by 3.600
horse power tractor. There were built ships completely equipped with: 2x800 horse power pusher, 1600t
tank-barge, RO-RO barge, as well as ship bodies as: hooker, Combi Coaster maritime ships, 85m, 108m, 110m
harbourships, 4500t barges, Europe II barges, pontoon bridges, tracker barges pleasure boats.

SC SHIPYARD ATG GIURGIU SRL has, today, 286 employees, including engineers and technicians who assure the good
development of the activies, as well as personnel authorizedby Veritas Bureau and Germanischer Lloyd for welding works. Among these,
208 are involved in ship construction activities and in their sustaining activities.

The elaborations technologies include procedure like:
lathing, cuttering, rectification, drilling, mechanical reeling or oxy-gas on the numbering command machine, MIG-MAG
welding, dying, dishing, rolling, profiling, sandblasting, painting and others.

By financial efforts (over 2 million Eur investments) and perseverence,
the management succededin finding solutions in order to start the production step by step by deliveringsome CASCO level naval and
maritime, executing repairing activities at the same time.
